The waste from an estimated 200,000 people over the course of Durham Fair weekend adds up remarkably fast. Once the fair ends, they are picked up by Quantum Biopower, an industrial facility in Southington.

The solar panels are projected to produce 101,020 kWh of clean energy each year for the food waste-to-electricity plant.

The solar panel installation represents two of the three parts necessary to create a microgrid.
