Today is National Bioenergy Energy Day, which highlights the use of organic materials to generate energy. Coinciding with it, the non-profit Energy Vision announced awards to three innovative companies advancing renewable natural gas (RNG) made from organic waste: Ameresco, Quantum Biopower, and CCI Bioenergy.

Using a technology that has been utilized in European countries for years, Quantum Biopower located in Southington, Connecticut uses technology to replicate a cow’s stomach to breakdown food into methane.
