Food Waste Talk

BLOOMFIELD — Lectures with discussion to educate the public about the global food waste crisis will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at AuerFarm, 158 Auer Farm Road, on the following days.

The lecture on Oct. 19 is titled "Landfill Alternatives for Food Waste" and will feature three local experts: Brian Paganini from Quantum Bio Power, Southington; Samuel King, from Blue Earth Compost, West Hartford; Chris Prosperi, owner of Metro Bis Restaurant, Simsbury.

The lecture on Nov. 16 is titled "Impacts of Food Waste Strategies on Hunger" and will be led by Lucy Nolan, Director of End Hunger, CT and Karen Franczyk, Green Mission Coordinator of Whole Foods.

Each lecture is $10 or guests may attend all three for $25. Refreshments are provided. To register, send a check to Jay Poliner, 53 Juniper Lane, West Hartford, CT. 06117.
